He recently served as Executive in Residence at the Goff Strategic Leadership Center at the University of Utah Eccles School of Business and developed the course “Values-based Leadership” for Western Governors University. He has been a guest lecturer at the University of Utah, Arizona State University, Brigham Young University, and Utah Valley University. He co-founded Wrap Ukraine with Quilts, a non-profit organization that provides comfort and love via handmade quilts to Ukrainian refugee children.

 

Hal served as a C-level executive in high growth companies for 20+ years, where he developed a proven path to create cultures of performance, leadership and execution excellence.

As Chief People Officer at Keap (formerly Infusionsoft, he played a key role in growing annual recurring revenue from $20 M to $100+ M and headcount from 170 to 650+ employees. He implemented culture initiatives that resulted in Keap being named by Fortune Magazine and Great Places to Work as one of the 100 Best Workplaces for Women and 100 Best Workplaces for Millennials and 13th best medium-sized company. 

In 2022, with his wife he co-founded Wrap Ukraine with Quilts, a non-profit organization that provides comfort and love via handmade quilts to Ukrainian refugee children.

Hal began his career as an investment banker, working in New York, Los Angeles and San Francisco. Hal received a BA from the University of Utah and an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business. As a father of four, he spent two decades coaching his kids in a variety of youth sports and enjoys time with family, music, adventure cycling, snowboarding and surfing.

I haven’t just studied leadership. I have practiced it, experimented with it, succeeded because of it and failed without it. My success as a coach stems from my success as an executive leader.
